You can make a difference and help conserve Delaware’s estuaries by volunteering at the St. Jones Reserve. We are in need of a few good men and women to assist staff at the Reserve with various projects and activities. In exchange for volunteering, you will learn about these valuable resources and gain a deeper appreciation for our environment, not to mention, have a great time! Please call the Reserve Manager, Mark Del Vecchio at (302) 739-3436 for more information.

Migratory shorebird research

Assistant Researchers - During the spring and summer months, the Reserve is buzzing with research. We are always in need of help during May and June with horseshoe crab spawning counts and migratory shorebird research.

Wetland Walk groupEducators - Share your love of the outdoors with others as a wetland walk guide or a school group teacher. Help conduct our seasonal public programs.

Grounds Keepers - If you enjoy gardening this is the opportunity for you. Volunteers are needed to assist our Conservationist with landscaping around the Reserve. Help maintain the Center’s trails and flower beds, and increase awareness of native plant gardening.

Tree Swallows

Office Assistants - Work in our reception area to welcome visitors to the building and answer any questions that they might have. And, as with any business, we need help filing, answering phones, preparing mailings, along with other clerical tasks.
