This facility is located at 400 South Madison Street in Wilmington. The facility came to DNRECs attention in July 1995 as part of a due diligence property transfer between the seller, Pettinaro, and the buyer, DTC. DNREC was requested to perform a review of environmental reports prepared for the property in 1988 and 1995. Based upon the reviews, DNREC recommended in September 1995 that No Further Action be required at this site with one provision: A restriction be placed on the deed limiting present and future use to commercial or industrial.
Prior to DNRECs involvement in this project, the Kaumagraph building had been vacant. Following the completion of the investigation at the facility, the DTC relocated their offices to the facility and performed a complete renovation of the 47,999 square-foot building at an estimated cost of $1,000,000. According to representatives from DTC, new jobs were created from the building renovation and from the relocation of their offices to the facility.
