Public Meeting on Gasoline Release at Ogletown Mobil, Chestnut Hill Road, Newark Set for Oct. 2The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Underground Storage Tank Branch, will hold a public meeting Monday, Oct. 2 at 7:30 p.m. to present the latest information on a release of up to 15,000 gallons of gasoline that occurred at the Ogletown Mobil gas station. The meeting will be at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Augusta Drive and Johnson Road, Chestnut Hill Estates, as part of the Chestnut Hill Estates Civic Association's regularly scheduled October meeting. DNREC discovered the release June 26 after petroleum vapors in a sanitary
sewer were traced back to the gas station located on Route 4 (Chestnut
Hill Road). At the time of the discovery, residents of Chestnut Hill
Estates Information on the current status of the release, ongoing gasoline recovery work, and future work planned will be presented at the meeting by DNREC staff, who will answer questions from area residents. (document no. 40-01/00/09/41) -30- |
