Fort Delaware State Park Blacksmith Offers Blacksmithing Classes

Looking for a fascinating new hobby? Learn the art and trade of blacksmithing from Fort Delaware State Park’s resident blacksmith, Mike Radebach.

The popular classes are scheduled from 12-3 p.m. each Saturday in October: beginner, Oct. 7, $5; intermediate, Oct. 14, $15; advanced, Oct. 21, $25; and intermediate, Oct. 28, $15. They are limited to 25 on a first come, first served basis. To sign up, contact the Fort Delaware State Park office at 302-834-7941.

Participants will meet at the Division of Parks and Recreation's Grass Dale Center, off Route 9 south of Delaware City, before going to the blacksmith’s site for the classes.
