Delaware State Parks Recruit Volunteer Wildlife Managers

If you know a lot about wildlife, the state Division of Parks and Recreation would like to put that knowledge to good use to help maintain healthy wildlife populations in Delaware’s state parks. The Division is currently recruiting hunters, anglers and wildlife watchers for its new wildlife management volunteer program.

"We’re looking for a few good men and women who love the outdoors and want to help manage and conserve wildlife in Delaware State Parks," explained Kay Hajek, the Division’s state parks wildlife coordinator.

Volunteers, who must be at least 18 years old, may be called upon to help with a variety of projects, such as assisting with deer population counts, building and installing deer stands, removing litter left in hunting and fishing areas or participating in special hunts.

For more information or to request a volunteer application, call Hajek at 302-739-4413 or send an email with your name, address and daytime phone number to wildvol@state.de.us.
