Assessed $25,000 Penalty For Hazardous Waste ViolationsRite Off, Inc. was issued a Notice of Administrative Penalty Assessment and Order with a penalty of $25,000 Sept. 1 by DNREC Secretary Nicholas A. DiPasquale. The Order was issued for violations of Delawares hazardous waste regulations. Rite Off, Inc., a large quantity generator of hazardous waste, is located in the Seaford Industrial Park in Seaford. A December 1999 compliance assessment revealed several violations and was followed by a Notice of Violation. The Notice of Violation issued on Jan. 11, 2000 to Rite Off, Inc. required the company to return to compliance within 30 days. Rite Off failed to return to compliance as directed. Violations included:
All the violations were related to waste management procedures and none resulted in a release of hazardous waste to the environment. The Secretarys Order requires Rite Off, within 10 days, to submit
