Sept. 1, 2000 New Manager Named for Cape Henlopen's Biden CenterThe Division of Parks and Recreation announces the appointment of Mary B. Wagner of Frederica as manager of the Biden Environmental Training Center at Cape Henlopen State Park. In addition to daily operations, she will be in charge of programming and overnight accommodations. She will start on Sept. 16. Wagner has worked for the Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs for 12 and a half years. She is currently supervisor of five Delaware State Museums historic sites: the State Visitor Center, Old State House, Johnson Victrola Museum, Delaware Archaeology Museum and the Museum of Small Town Life. After receiving a degree in history from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Va., she worked as an agricultural interpreter at Colonial Williamsburg. The Biden Environmental Education Training Center is named in honor of Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. for his efforts over many years to have federal lands returned to the state. The Division received the property in 1996 and dedicated it on July 31, 1998. Plans are to develop the center into a regional overnight environmental education facility. Doc. no. 40-01/00/08/41 |
