Masseys Landing Boat Ramp Opens After $1.3 Million RenovationThe Division of Fish and Wildlife announces Masseys Landing Boat Ramp is now open to anglers wishing to fish the Rehoboth and Indian River bays. The $1.3 million renovation project was officially completed Aug. 8. It was constructed with state and federal dollars provided through the Sport Fish Restoration Programs boating access development funds. The original launch ramp was a small two-lane ramp with unpaved parking. The new boat ramp site has four 16-foot wide concrete launching lanes with three boarding docks and a floating courtesy dock, a fishing platform and pier, as well as paved lighted parking for 110 vehicles and trailers. There is also a mooring dock reserved for Fish and Wildlife enforcement vessels. Masseys Landing, one of 46 public access sites the Division operates statewide, is barrier free and open 24 hours a day. There is no charge to use the facility. However out-of-state registered vessels are required to display a boat ramp certificate when launching from this facility. Fish and Wildlife officers will routinely patrol the area as well as all other Division areas. (Document no. 40-01/00/08/23) - 30 - |
