Tickets for Kent Conservations Annual Barn Dance on Sale Fundraiser Supports Delaware ENVIROTHONThe Kent Conservation District invites everyone to a rompin' stompin' good time at its 3rd Annual Barn Dance Saturday, Sept. 9 from 5 to 11 p.m. at the Delaware State Fair Exhibit Hall. The Barn Dance is held to raise funds in support of the Delaware Envirothon, a competitive, problem-solving natural resource challenge for high school students. Guests at the Barn Dance will be treated to a barbecue pork and chicken dinner while a local bluegrass band provides entertainment. The evenings activities include a demonstration of line dancing by the Modern Maturity Centers Steppin Seniors, a benefit auction, and dancing to music provided by a disc jockey. Tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple. The goals of the Delaware Envirothon are to test the environmental knowledge of high school students and to cultivate a desire to learn more about their natural world. The students compete in soils, aquatics, forestry, wildlife and a current environmental issue. The competitive experience fosters sound conservation decisions. A limited number of tickets are available and can be purchased at the
Kent Conservation District located at 3500 S. DuPont Highway in Dover.
