State Park Surf Fishing Vehicle Access Reopens After Winter ClosureOn March 1, the Division of Parks and Recreation will reopen the state park beaches and parking lots that have been closed to surf fishing vehicles for the winter. This includes day use parking lots at Gordon's Pond and Beach Plum Island at Cape Henlopen State Park, and this year for the first time those at Delaware Seashore State Park's Conquest Road and Key Box Road. Several areas remained open to tagged surf fishing vehicles throughout the winter, including 24-hour access at Delaware Seashore's 3R's area and all of Fenwick Island State Park, and Cape Henlopen's Point Crossing and Navy Crossing. A Division brochure, "Delaware Surf Fishing," has complete beach access information. It is available at state park offices, from surf fishing vehicle permit agents or by calling the Division's central office at 302-739-4702. -30- |
