Vol. 31, No. 51 For more information, contact Mary Voshell, park administrator, or Andy Meanor, central reservation system program coordinator, at 302-739-4702. Public Invited to Learn about New Central Reservation System for Delaware State Parks Campsites and CabinsThe Division of Parks and Recreation has scheduled a public meeting for 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 6 to present plans for a central reservation system that will allow state park users to reserve cabins and campsites at any of the five camping parks up to seven months in advance. It will be at the University of Delaware's Paradee Building on Route 13 across from the Blue Hen Mall in Dover. The much-anticipated new reservation system will replace the old first come, first served system for staying at one of the 876 campsites, 11 cabins, six camping cabins or two yurts at Lums Pond, Killens Pond, Cape Henlopen, Delaware Seashore and Trap Pond state parks. "We have worked with Delaware's park visitors, camping clubs and park field staff during the development stage and their input has been very valuable in planning a user-friendly reservation system," said Park Administrator Mary M. Voshell. "Now that we have a plan in place, we want to introduce it to all Delawareans and give them a chance to comment." Customer service representatives are scheduled to begin answering the 1-877-98-PARKS toll-free number on April 4. Within a few months, the central reservation system also will be available via the Internet. For more information, contact Mary M. Voshell, park administrator, or Andy Meanor, central reservation system program coordinator, at 302-739-4702. -30- |
