Citizens Source Water Assessment Committee to Meet Dec. 6

The Citizens and Technical Advisory Committee (CTAC) of the Source Water Assessment and Protection Program will meet Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the 2nd floor conference room of the Department of Public Safety building in Dover.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency approved Delaware's Source Water Assessment Plan in October 1999. The program is charged with delineating source water areas around all public water supply wells in the state, identifying all existing and potential sources of contamination within those areas, and making the information available to the public.

Agenda items for the Dec. 6 meeting include:

  • Policies and Special Projects: Delaware Geological Survey Wellhead Delineating Contract; U.S. Geological Survey North American Water Quality Assessment Sampling Contract; Recharge Potential Mapping; and Riparian Corridor Mapping.
  • Existing Authorities Compendium.
  • Surface Water Assessment Update.
  • Ground Water System Assessments: Town of Felton (draft); Seaford area update; and City of Dover update.
