Coming Events for White Clay Creek State Park

Hiking into Archaeology, Sundays, February 4 - March 4, 1 p.m.

There's no better time than winter to explore the visible contours of the land. The starkness of the season reveals ruins, patterns, textures, and other clues to historic sites that were hidden under the vegetation of summer. Learn how archaeologists "read" these clues and combine them with historical records to develop a story of the past at White Clay Creek State Park. Meet at the White Clay Creek State Park Nature Center. For more information, contact Debbie Paruszewski, park naturalist, at (302)-368-6900

February 11: Hiking the Pomeroy Railroad, Part II

In the second half of this program, hike another two miles to explore the historic roadbeds and bridge abutments supporting the tracks as the train crisscrossed the creek, winding its way northward. Meet at White Clay Creek State Park's Chambers Rock Road parking lot at 1 p.m. For more information, contact Debbie Paruszewski, park naturalist, at (302)-368-6900.
