Woodpeckers in the Park

3 p.m.

Meet at the Chambers House Nature Center at White Clay Creek State Park for a brief lesson to help identify the seven species of woodpeckers found in the park then. trek across the fields to the large trees and wooded trail habitats of these magnificent, easy-to-spot birds.

Owl Opera
Saturday, January 6
7 p.m.

These phantoms of the night sky are a fascinating study of adaptive hunting and survival strategies. Learn to identify the sights and sounds of Delaware's owls in a presentation by the park naturalist, and then walk through the park to listen for their "music of the night."

Hiding, Hibernating and Hatching

1 p.m.

Where have all the insects gone? Join the White Clay Creek State Park naturalist for a fascinating look at the unique adaptations of insects that ensure their survival over the cold winter months.
