TRAINING

Environmental Enforcement Officers are among the best trained law enforcement professionals in Delaware. Air and Waste Management Enforcement Staff go through a rigorous program designed to build intricate knowledge of traditional criminal law and environmental science. By using this approach the Section supports and insures the development of well rounded environmental enforcement professionals.

A typical officer will attend most of the following classes during his/her career

EQUIPMENT

Enforcement Officers of the Division of Air and Waste Management use a variety of equipment to investigate and prosecute environmental crimes. Assigned equipment ranges from hand held pollution monitoring and sampling equipment to traditional law enforcement equipment and sophisticated surveillance equipment.

The equipment assigned to the officers serves a critical role in the investigation, prosecution, and management of environmental crime.
